Why am I doing this?
Generally, buying the domain name for your own name is a cry for help, an indicator of personal implosion and an act reserved for those truly lost in this world. In this case, however, it is not that. And I’ll say no more on the matter.
My name is Joe, and I’m a writer. I like doing it, and sometimes I’m paid to do it, but most often I give it away for free in the hope of being paid for it more frequently. If I were a satsuma salesman, this strategy probably wouldn’t work. You might enquire as to the price of my satsumas and, upon being told, you might decide that the price is too high, and you’d look elsewhere for satsumas or go without altogether. If you subsequently discovered that, when I fail to sell my satsumas, I just give them away for free, you’d never buy one again. Suddenly, I’ve devalued my satsumas so much that any price over £0.00 constitutes overpaying. It is a bad strategy. That is why satsuma salespeople never do it, and why I am not a satsuma salesman.
